WINEMAKING: The Winery Marchesato degli Aleramici , established in 1986, near Siena, in Montalcino town where you will find our estate “Il Galampio”. Situated in the locality known as “Pian delle Vigne” this ancient farm is located on a gentle slope that descends from the state forest down towards the Ombrone river. The Brunello is refined over 48 months in barrels. The resulting wine is truly one of Italian’s greatest.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Brunello is ideal to be enjoyed alonside meat dishes, lamb, duck, game and strong cheeses such as parmesan, pecorino. It is recommended to uncork the bottle a few hours before consumption and serve at temperature between 18°C and 20°C.
VINTAGE: 1996 Spring, initially fresh, caused a delay in budding but ended with a hot period which allowed an excellent flowering and fruit setting of the flowers. Towards the second half of August the climate changed and a selection of the best bunches was made and the elimination of the excess ones. The selected grapes are ripened in the best possible conditions and at the time of the harvest, it was in excellent condition with characteristic aromatic notes.
