WINEMAKING: The Winery Marchesato degli Aleramici , established in 1986, near Siena, in Montalcino town where you will find our estate “Il Galampio”. Situated in the locality known as “Pian delle Vigne” this ancient farm is located on a gentle slope that descends from the state forest down towards the Ombrone river. It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature with a maceration on the skins for about 25 days. Subsequently the wine ages in oak barrels for 48 months and for a further 6 months in bottle.
VINTAGE: 1997 The late flowering was recovered before summer. In April, a strong frost (the first one in 15 years), reduced considerably the quantity leading to a very anticipated harvest with high concentrations.
