WINEMAKING: This Kerner grows at 900 m above sea level in one of the highest located wine regions of South Tyrol. This cross between Schiava and Riesling, takes its name from the Swabian poet Justinus Kerner. Harvested by hand, cold mazeration for 12 hours, thoughtful pressing, alcoholic fermentation in steel, aging on the noble lees for 6 months.
TASTING NOTES: This wine shows a yellow color with light green reflections, a fresh and aromatic wine with a slight hint of nutmeg, long and spicy aftertaste.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Widely used in combination with shellfish and seafood but also medium-aged cheese dishes. You can also think of a Kerner to be consumed in combination with grilled fish and vegetable terrines. Excellent to enhance desserts with a particular taste such as apples with fois gras.
